Life at Vista Verde
An intimate, rustic place with rough edges and an extraordinary view: concrete and bamboo, hammocks everywhere, a restaurant terrace under the vines, and a garden that ends where the valley begins.

Hammocks with a horizon
There are hammocks on the lawn, on the verandas and under the pergola, all pointed more or less at Santa Marta and the sea. The garden edge is where people gather at sunset — sometimes with a guitar.

The table
Breakfast is included on the rates we checked and served 07:30–09:00. The on-site restaurant is listed for lunch and dinner with Caribbean cuisine and vegetarian options, and dinner runs 18:00–20:00. There is a bar, too. There is no guest kitchen, so plan to eat at the hostel or down in town.
We don’t publish a menu: dishes change, and the hostel can tell you what’s cooking.

Rooms to wander
A rustic lounge with woven armchairs (and, on the day of the photo, a bunch of bananas hanging from the beam), a social balcony, terraces, long verandas, and a round window that frames the forest like a painting.

The neighbours
A toucanet photographed on the property. Red hummingbird feeders on the bamboo balconies. Birdsong before breakfast. Bring binoculars if you own a pair.
