Coffee & cacao

Cacao & chocolate tour at Finca La Candelaria

40-minute walk · 1-hour tour · make your own chocolate

  • 40 min walk
  • About 1 hour (farm listing)
  • 40,000 COP per person on the farm’s website

From pod to bonbon in an hour: the farm shows the whole cacao process, you make your own chocolate, and you taste it dark, milk and hot.

A separate tour from the coffee one. You visit the plantation and follow cacao as it becomes cocoa and chocolate, then make your own healthy chocolate with ingredients grown on the farm. The guides also explain how industry makes white chocolate.

The tasting covers cacao seeds and nibs, dark, milk and hot chocolate, bonbons — and it ends with a chocolate face mask. The farm runs it in English or Spanish.

These photos show Vista Verde and its surroundings, not Cacao & chocolate tour at Finca La Candelaria itself. The hostel’s own photos of it are on the wish list.
