Minca's best-known swimming holes, a 40-minute jungle hike from the hostel: tiered natural pools of cold, clear river water.
Vista Verde lists Pozo Azul as a 40-minute jungle hike, and the signpost by the gate says the same. Expect forest trail rather than road, with the sound of the river before you see it.
Recent guides report a small insurance or entrance fee since 2025 and say the pools get busy on weekends and holidays, so go early if you want them quiet. The water comes down from the Sierra Nevada and is cold.
These photos show Vista Verde and its surroundings, not Pozo Azul itself. The hostel’s own photos of it are on the wish list.
