Coffee tour at Finca La Candelaria

40-minute walk · 1-hour tour · live roasting

  • 40 min walk
  • About 1 hour (farm listing)
  • 40,000 COP per person on the farm’s website

Walk 40 minutes to a working farm and follow coffee from the plant to the cup: pulping, fermenting, drying, roasting in front of you, grinding and tasting.

Finca La Candelaria is an independent farm, about a 40-minute walk from Vista Verde according to the hostel. Its one-hour coffee tour visits the plantation and explains the challenges of growing organically and how they solve them, the varieties and species, and the Colombian coffee federation.

Then the whole process: depulping, fermentation, drying, live roasting, grinding, brewing and tasting — plus how the roast changes the flavour and how coffee is decaffeinated.

These photos show Vista Verde and its surroundings, not Coffee tour at Finca La Candelaria itself. The hostel’s own photos of it are on the wish list.
