The best thing to do at Vista Verde is nothing at all: a hammock, the garden, Santa Marta and the Caribbean turning gold.
The hostel sits high enough that the view runs over layers of jungle ridges to the towers of Santa Marta and the sea. On clear evenings the sun drops toward the coast and the whole valley goes amber, then pink, then blue.
Take a hammock on the lawn or the veranda, or join whoever is gathered on the garden benches. Dinner is served from 18:00 according to the hostel, so golden hour runs straight into the evening.
